Limassol to launch smart parking system in July

Limassol municipality is scheduled to activate a new smart parking system in early July. The project, which covers approximately 2,500 parking spaces in the city center, was awarded to Blue Sun Automation Ltd in June 2025 for a value of €5,172,000 plus VAT. Installation of sensors to monitor real-time space availability and electronic payment systems is currently underway. The initiative includes the introduction of barriers in organized car parks and redesigning traffic flow at the Enaerios area and the pier facilities. Drivers will access availability data and make payments via a mobile application. Authorities have not yet finalized the pricing structure for the system, with discussions expected at the upcoming municipal council management committee meeting. The project aims to reduce traffic congestion and improve parking management for residents and visitors.
