Cyprus president meets with Bahrain's transport minister

President of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides met at the Presidential Palace with Bahraini Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, who also serves as President of the King Hammad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance. During the meeting, President Christodoulides expressed his anticipation for a planned visit by the King of Bahrain to Cyprus in 2027 to strengthen bilateral and regional cooperation. The two officials discussed the importance of active European Union engagement in the region. Minister Al Khalifa recalled President Christodoulides' visit to Bahrain in January, describing it as a historic step following Cyprus's assumption of the EU Council Presidency. The discussions also covered an upcoming high-level conference in Nicosia focused on interreligious dialogue. This event is co-organized by the King Hammad Centre within the framework of the Cypriot EU Council Presidency. Both sides emphasized the importance of their shared values and collaborative efforts in the current geopolitical climate.
