Russian tourist hospitalized in Limassol after public disturbance

On Tuesday, June 24, a 39-year-old Russian woman was hospitalized in Limassol, Cyprus, following a chaotic public incident. Reports indicate the woman, who arrived in Cyprus on June 2, was running naked through the streets of the Agios Nikolaos area. During the incident, she reportedly entered a moving vehicle, causing the driver to brake suddenly, which resulted in a minor traffic accident with another car. Police officers responded to the scene and, following a struggle, managed to immobilize the woman, during which she fell to the ground. Witnesses and authorities noted she exhibited signs of severe distress, foam at the mouth, and a strong smell of alcohol. Toxicology tests later confirmed the presence of alcohol and opioids, specifically fentanyl. The woman is currently in the Limassol General Hospital, where she is sedated, intubated, and being treated for rib fractures, with her condition reported as stable.
