Xylofagou community to host inaugural fish festival

The Xylofagou Community Council has announced the inaugural Fish Festival, scheduled for Sunday, July 12, 2026. The event will take place at the Xylofagou Fishing Shelter from 11:00 to 18:00. The festival aims to promote the region's fishing traditions, gastronomy, and local history. Attendees will be able to participate in various activities, including fresh fish tastings and demonstrations of traditional fishing techniques and net weaving. Musical entertainment will be provided by the band Paspartou, alongside traditional dance performances. The program also features family-oriented activities and complimentary boat trips to local sea caves and coastal landmarks. This event is intended to become an annual fixture for the community.
