Investigation launched into death of passenger after flight from Larnaca to Manchester
A 30-year-old British man, identified as Callum Kerr, died following an incident on a Jet2 flight from Larnaca to Manchester on June 21. Witnesses reported that Kerr, a bare-knuckle boxer, had consumed significant amounts of alcohol before and during the flight. During the journey, he allegedly engaged in a dispute with his partner and exhibited aggressive behavior, including headbutting a passenger and shouting at others. Crew members requested the assistance of passengers to restrain him, and the pilot declared a request for priority landing. The flight arrived at Manchester Airport at approximately 2:25 am on June 22. Upon boarding, police found Kerr restrained and unresponsive, later confirming he had stopped breathing. Officers and paramedics attempted cardiopulmonary resuscitation and used a defibrillator, but he was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital. Greater Manchester Police are currently investigating both the circumstances of his death and whether the restraint measures used by fellow passengers were reasonable and lawful.
