Police investigate death of passenger following Jet2 flight incident
Greater Manchester Police are investigating the death of 30-year-old Callum Kerr, a passenger on a Jet2 flight from Larnaca to Manchester on 22 June. Following reports of disruptive behavior, including an alleged altercation with his partner and physical attacks on other passengers, Kerr was restrained by fellow travelers. Witnesses reported he had consumed significant amounts of alcohol before and during the flight. Upon landing at 2:25 am, police officers found Kerr unresponsive and not breathing. Medical personnel attempted CPR and used a defibrillator before transporting him to a hospital, where his family later confirmed his death. Authorities are currently investigating the events leading up to his collapse and whether the restraint methods used by passengers were lawful and proportional. No arrests have been made, and an official cause of death is pending an inquest. Jet2 has confirmed the flight requested priority landing due to the incident but declined further comment during the ongoing investigation.
