AEL Limassol accelerates roster building ahead of new season
AEL Limassol is actively working to finalize its roster before the start of the new season, with the first training sessions scheduled for early July. The club has already signed Georgios Papageorgiou, Jair Tavares, and Stefanos Kapino. New agreements with Hamza Catakovic, a 29-year-old Bosnian striker, and Diogo Gomes, a 25-year-old Portuguese defender, are nearing completion. The club is also in administrative processes to finalize deals with Andreas Karo and Yannick Gomis. Additionally, AEL is showing strong interest in Portuguese midfielder Filipe Soares, who is negotiating a mutual contract termination with Nacional, and winger Iuri Medeiros. Club president Kostas Konstantinou is overseeing the transition, with management aiming to fill 80% of the roster vacancies by the first training camp. The team is focusing on quality reinforcements following a difficult previous campaign under coach Hugo Martins.
