House President Annita Demetriou meets with Albanian Minister Ferit Hoxha

President of the House of Representatives of Cyprus, Annita Demetriou, held a working meeting with the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, Ferit Hoxha. The discussions primarily addressed the resolution of the Cyprus problem and the promotion of stability in the Eastern Mediterranean. Demetriou reiterated the Greek Cypriot side's commitment to resuming negotiations for a comprehensive solution based on international law, United Nations resolutions, and European Union principles. She further expressed an expectation that Turkey would adopt a constructive stance to facilitate these talks. Regarding regional integration, Demetriou reaffirmed Cyprus's support for the European path of Western Balkan countries. She specifically congratulated Albania on the progress made in its accession process. In response, Minister Hoxha thanked Cyprus for its ongoing support and acknowledged the constructive role Cyprus played during its presidency of the Council of the EU in advancing the enlargement process.
