Nikos Sykas addresses public comparisons with former President Anastasiadis

Former Democratic Rally (DISY) member Nikos Sykas issued a public statement via Facebook regarding recent discourse comparing his legal case to that of former President Nikos Anastasiadis. Sykas stated that his name has been featured in public discussions alongside other cases, which he argues rely on inaccurate premises and lead to false conclusions. He emphasized that every legal case must be judged independently based on its specific facts. Furthermore, Sykas explicitly denied reports suggesting he had resigned from the party's collective bodies. He addressed DISY officials directly, urging them to avoid superficial comparisons that he claims undermine the credibility of the party and the quality of public debate. He called for respect toward institutions and for the facts of each case to be allowed to speak for themselves. The Legal Service of Cyprus has reportedly shelved his case for the time being.
