50th Cypriot swimming championship held in Limassol

The 50th Cypriot Swimming Championship is taking place from June 26 to 28 at the Olympic Swimming Pool in Limassol, featuring 155 athletes from eight nautical clubs. APOEL leads the team standings with 293 points, followed by the Nicosia Nautical Club with 224 points and the Limassol Nautical Club with 195 points. The competition has seen several national records broken over the first two days. Notable performances include Maria Erokina of the Paphos Nautical Club in the 200m breaststroke, Andreas Alexandrou in the 200m breaststroke for young swimmers, and the Famagusta Nautical Club in the 4x200m freestyle relay. Previous results from the first day also highlighted record-breaking performances by Giorgos Dimitriou in the 400m individual medley and Andriu Marcus Lagoutis in the 50m butterfly. The event serves as a qualifying stage for international competitions, including the Mediterranean Games and the European Championships.
