APOEL wins 50th Pan-Cypriot Swimming Championship
The 50th Pan-Cypriot Swimming Championship for men and women was held at the Limassol Olympic Pool from June 26 to 28. APOEL secured the championship title for the third consecutive year, finishing with 437 points. The Nicosia Nautical Club took second place with 343 points, followed by the Limassol Nautical Club with 298 points. Throughout the event, 155 athletes from eight nautical clubs competed for medals and qualification spots. The championship featured eight new national records, including performances by Maria Erokina in the 100m and 200m breaststroke, and Giorgos Dimitriou in the 400m individual medley. Andriou Markus Lagoutis of APOEL set a national youth record in the 50m butterfly twice in one day. Additionally, Andreas Alexandrou broke a record in the 200m breaststroke, and the Famagusta Nautical Club girls' team set a new record in the 4x200m freestyle relay. The event was streamed live, marking 50 years of competition in Cyprus.
