Cyprus Olympic Committee honors the memory of Phoebus Constantinides
On Wednesday, June 24, the Executive Board of the Cyprus Olympic Committee (COC) and the 'Woman and Sports' Committee held a joint meeting at the Olympic House. The session began with a minute of silence dedicated to the late Phoebus Constantinides, honoring his long-term contribution to Cypriot sports and the Olympic movement. Participants recognized his commitment to values such as equality, participation, and dignity. To preserve his legacy, the committees decided to dedicate the annual 'Woman and Sports' event to his memory. Additionally, they established the 'Phoebus Constantinides Fair Play Award.' This new award will be presented to individuals who demonstrate exceptional athletic integrity, respect, and the Olympic spirit. These decisions were made by the COC leadership, including President George Chrysostomou, as a formal acknowledgment of Constantinides' work.
