Limassol municipality acquires new beach cleaning equipment

The Municipality of Limassol has purchased a Beach Tech 5500 beach cleaning machine for 250,000 euros. This equipment is designed to filter sand and remove debris ranging from large items like bottles and cans to cigarette butts. Previously, sand cleaning in Limassol was primarily conducted manually and on an infrequent basis. This procurement is part of a broader municipal effort to modernize equipment and improve public services. Additionally, the municipality has assumed direct management of beach umbrellas and sunbeds, which remain priced at 2.50 euros each. Recent urban improvements also include the planting of 1,300 trees along the coastal front, particularly in the Akti Olympion area. These initiatives aim to upgrade the aesthetic and hygienic quality of the city's coastline for residents and visitors alike.
