18th edition of Karaviotika Dromena presented in Nicosia
On Thursday, the 18th edition of the annual publication Karaviotika Dromena was presented in Nicosia. The event featured Deputy Minister of Culture Dr. Vasiliki Kassianidou, who spoke on behalf of President Nikos Christodoulides. The publication is supported by the Department of Contemporary Culture and has been released annually for 18 years by the displaced Municipality of Karavas, which commemorates 52 years of displacement. The series was recently awarded the 2025 Grand Prix de la Francophonie by the French Federation of Painters, Poets and Sculptors (APPEL) in the Landes region. The award recognizes the quality and thematic richness of the work, which documents the historical, religious, and artistic heritage of the occupied region. This year's volume includes content ranging from the Lambousa treasures and traditional embroidery to the history of the Acheiropoiitos Monastery. The publication serves as an effort to preserve the historical memory and community cohesion of Karavas residents.
