Cyprus reports progress on European Union digital decade targets

On June 17, the European Commission published the Digital Decade Report assessing progress toward 2030 targets. The Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy of Cyprus stated that the country is on a positive track, with 77% of milestones for 2025 progressing as scheduled. The report evaluates four pillars: digital infrastructure, digital skills, digitalization of public services, and digital transformation of businesses. Cyprus reports a 100% 5G coverage rate and a 95.5% coverage for very high-capacity networks and fiber optics, figures that exceed the European Union average. These outcomes were linked to a project initiated in April 2024, which is expected to conclude in the coming months. The Ministry confirmed that it is currently evaluating the report's recommendations and has already implemented a significant portion of them. Implementation efforts continue as the government aligns its national roadmap with European standards.
