Update on AEL and APOEL football club transfers and team preparations
AEL Limassol has commenced its pre-season training at the Tsirio stadium and is focusing on strengthening its defensive line. The club is currently targeting three new center-backs, with Andreas Karo near a verbal agreement, while negotiations continue with Venezuelan defender Mikel Villanueva. AEL has already completed seven signings, including Kapino, Gomes, and Joao Tavares, and intends to make at least six more additions to the roster. Concurrently, APOEL has secured the signing of 33-year-old Spanish defender Angel Garcia to bolster their left defensive flank alongside Kostas Stafylidis. The club plans to naturalize Garcia as a Cypriot citizen to manage foreign player quotas. Additionally, APOEL has officially announced the acquisition of Argentine player Fabricio Pedroso as their third summer signing. While some reports suggest internal staff adjustments at AEL, including the future of Sergio Conceicao, both clubs are actively managing their squads ahead of the new season.
