Lightning strike damages Multimedia Fountain in Wroclaw

On Saturday, a lightning bolt struck the Multimedia Fountain located near the Centennial Hall in Wroclaw, Poland. Security footage released by authorities on Thursday shows the strike hitting the central jet while children were playing in the vicinity. No injuries were reported, as the children quickly fled the area to find shelter. The strike caused extensive damage to the lighting and multimedia systems, leading to the suspension of all performances until further notice. Authorities noted that the restoration process is expected to take several weeks. Officials reiterated that entering the fountain basin is strictly prohibited, emphasizing that many visitors frequently ignore warning signs and audio announcements. The fountain is one of the largest in Europe and is situated next to a UNESCO World Heritage site.
