Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha sets historic World Cup record
Cape Verde goalkeeper Josimar Jose Evora Dias, known as Vozinha, has achieved a significant milestone at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. At 40 years old, he has become only the third goalkeeper to record two clean sheets in a World Cup after reaching the age of 40, joining Dino Zoff and Peter Shilton in the record books. His performance helped Cape Verde secure second place in Group 8 after achieving three draws in their first-ever tournament appearance. The team is now set to face Argentina in the round of 32 on July 4 at 01:00. Born in Mindelo on June 3, 1986, Vozinha has played for various clubs throughout his career, including AEL Limassol and Chaves. Following his success in the tournament, reports indicate that three Brazilian Serie B clubs are currently in negotiations to sign the veteran goalkeeper starting in July.
