Akel party outlines strategy for 2028 presidential elections

Meanwhile, the political landscape remains divided as current President Nikos Christodoulides prepares to seek re-election. Conversely, Annita Demetriou has stated that the Democratic Rally (DISY) will field its own candidate, with speculation suggesting she will be the nominee. Akel anticipates that the fragmentation of the right-wing front may work to its strategic advantage in the upcoming cycle.
