Recent crime reports and police wanted notices in Cyprus

Cypriot authorities are conducting investigations into several major criminal cases. A 35-year-old Syrian national, Ahmed Al Zoueid, is currently wanted for a double attempted murder in Strovolos on June 27, 2026, where he allegedly stabbed his 38-year-old wife and 58-year-old mother-in-law. The victims are in stable condition. The suspect was already wanted since February 2026 for domestic violence. Additionally, authorities are seeking Adi Fawzi Ahmed El Sabawi (49) for fraud in Famagusta, Andreas Laonaris (39) for serious crimes in Nicosia, and Ahmad Saad (30) for serious offenses in Nicosia. Separately, a 46-year-old woman remains in critical condition following a shooting by her husband on June 30. Police are actively searching for suspects and appeal to the public for information via the citizen line 1460.
