OELMEK leadership sets priorities for teacher appointments and evaluation
The newly appointed secretariat of the Organization of Greek Secondary Education Teachers (OELMEK) has outlined its strategic priorities under the leadership of Constantinos Constantinou. Key initiatives include the modernization of the organization to enhance transparency, accountability, and member participation. The leadership is currently focusing on two immediate educational issues: the new teacher appointment system and the evaluation system. These topics are slated for urgent review and decision-making by the secretariat. The organization intends to maintain a collaborative approach with the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth and other educational stakeholders. Consultations are currently ongoing to address these developments. The core goals remain the upgrading of the public school system and the protection of teachers' professional rights. A meeting between OELMEK and the Ministry of Education is scheduled for this Friday.
