53-year-old man in critical condition after injury in Ayia Napa

A 53-year-old man, identified in some reports as a Norwegian tourist, remains in critical condition and is intubated at Nicosia General Hospital. He was discovered seriously injured on Eleftherias Street in Ayia Napa shortly before 7:00 am on June 28, 2026. Initially, he was transported to Famagusta General Hospital, where medical examinations revealed a skull fracture and brain haemorrhage. Due to the severity of his condition, he was later transferred to Nicosia General Hospital for specialized care. While the police are officially investigating the circumstances of the injury, some reports suggest the man may have fallen from a height while intoxicated. The Famagusta Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is leading the ongoing inquiry to determine whether the event was an accident. No official cause has been finalized by authorities yet.
