Police arrest 41-year-old man for possession of child sexual abuse material

Cyprus Police arrested a 41-year-old man on suspicion of acquiring, possessing, and distributing child sexual abuse material. The investigation is being conducted by the Cybercrime Sub-Directorate. Authorities initiated the case following information received regarding a user on an online communication application seeking such illicit material. After identifying the suspect, police executed a court warrant for his arrest shortly after 15:30. A search of the suspect's residence was conducted under a judicial warrant. Officers seized one laptop, three mobile phones, and two external hard drives, all of which have been sent for forensic examination. The suspect remains in custody as the investigation continues.
