Lightning strike in Swedish amusement park leaves multiple people injured

On Sunday, a lightning strike at the Tosselilla Sommarland amusement park in Scania, southern Sweden, resulted in several injuries. The incident occurred when a lightning bolt struck a tree, causing branches to fall on a group of bystanders. Local health authorities confirmed that a 45-year-old woman is currently hospitalized with serious injuries. Two additional individuals were transported to the hospital by ambulance, while five children and two adults received on-site medical treatment for minor injuries. Park management stated that they had anticipated the severe weather and had cleared all visitors from rides and pool facilities prior to the strike. The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute had issued warnings for thunderstorms and heavy rainfall across much of southern Sweden for that day. Despite initial reports suggesting there were no serious injuries, subsequent assessments by medical officials confirmed the critical condition of one victim.
