Drunk driver causes multi-vehicle collision in Limassol
At approximately 6:20 am on Monday, a 38-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle while traveling east along the Limassol coastal road near Molos. The incident resulted in the driver striking five vehicles in total, including a parked car and a vehicle he hit from behind. His car eventually mounted the pavement, damaging protective bollards and an Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) pole before coming to a stop in the middle of the road. Law enforcement confirmed the driver tested positive for alcohol during a preliminary breathalyzer check. The suspect was transported to the Limassol Traffic Police headquarters for processing. He is expected to be arrested under a court warrant. The police intend to present the individual before the Limassol District Court on Tuesday to seek a remand order. Greek-language sources specifically identified the driver as a Russian national.
