Greek Prime Minister and Cypriot House President discuss bilateral ties
On Tuesday in Athens, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the President of the Cypriot House of Representatives, Annita Demetriou, held a meeting to coordinate diplomatic strategies. Mitsotakis congratulated Demetriou on her re-election and praised the performance of the recent Cypriot Presidency of the European Union. Both leaders emphasized the necessity of a unified approach regarding the Cyprus issue, citing recent diplomatic momentum. Demetriou also met with representatives of Greek political parties, including PASOK, SYRIZA, and the KKE, to discuss inter-parliamentary cooperation. The discussions focused on defense, security, and European integration. Demetriou reiterated that Greece remains a key ally for Cyprus in navigating complex negotiations with Turkey.
