House president Annita Demetriou visits Greece for high-level talks
President of the Cypriot House of Representatives Annita Demetriou began an official visit to Athens today following an invitation from Hellenic Parliament President Nikitas Kaklamanis. On Monday, she met with Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis to discuss the Cyprus issue, European affairs, and bilateral cooperation. During the meeting, Demetriou emphasized the need for a coordinated approach between Greece and Cyprus in response to regional diplomatic challenges and Turkey's stated positions. She noted that the focus remains on progress toward the resumption of negotiations for the Cyprus problem. On Tuesday, Demetriou is scheduled to hold meetings with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and her counterpart Nikitas Kaklamanis, who will host an official dinner. Additionally, she will hold discussions with leaders of various parliamentary parties. The visit concludes with her address to the plenary session of the Greek Parliament on Tuesday at 19:00.
