Recent traffic incidents and road closures in Cyprus

On July 2 and 3, 2026, several traffic incidents occurred across Cyprus. A five-vehicle pile-up near Livadia on the Ayia Napa–Rizoelia motorway caused a lane closure, resulting only in material damage. On the Limassol–Nicosia motorway near Zygi, a collision between a van and a truck occurred around 19:00, leading to one person being hospitalized as a precaution. Additionally, a trailer mechanical failure closed a lane near Mari on the Nicosia–Limassol motorway, which was cleared by July 3. Furthermore, authorities closed the Paphos–Limassol motorway between the Kantou and Agios Sillas exits from 23:00 to 01:00 on July 2 for the reconstruction of a fatal collision involving 29-year-old Dimitris Vasileiou that occurred on June 20. Traffic in Strovolos near the American Heart medical center also reported delays on Tuesday due to a separate traffic accident. Police continue to monitor these areas and have urged drivers to exercise caution.
