Larnaka 2030 launches Dramaturgies of Place project

The Larnaka 2030 organization has announced an open call for three playwrights to participate in the project titled Dramaturgies of Place. This initiative is part of the artistic program for the Larnaka 2030 European Capital of Culture. The project aims to move theatrical writing from individual creation to a collaborative process involving local communities. Selected writers will work within Larnaka neighborhoods to conduct research through observation, interviews, and community engagement. This field research will serve as the foundation for developing original theatrical works. These works are scheduled to be presented as site-specific performances in 2027. The project is integrated into the Mahalart program under the central narrative of Common Place. Participants are expected to engage in a non-traditional writing process involving direct cooperation with residents and local groups.
