Enzo Maresca appointed as new Manchester City head coach

Manchester City officially announced the appointment of Enzo Maresca as their new head coach on June 29, 2026. The 46-year-old Italian signed a three-year contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2029. Maresca succeeds Pep Guardiola, who departed the team after ten years in charge. The appointment was delayed pending the payment of compensation to Chelsea, where Maresca previously held a position. During his recent tenure, Maresca led Chelsea to victories in the 2025 Conference League and the 2025 Club World Cup. His coaching history with the Manchester club includes managing the U23 team in the 2020-2021 season and serving as an assistant to Guardiola during the 2022-2023 campaign.
