Industrial data reports for May and April 2026
The Statistical Service reported that the Industrial Producer Price Index for May 2026 reached 125.7 points, marking a 2.5% increase compared to May 2025 and a 3% increase over April 2026. Sectoral increases were led by water supply and material recovery at 7.3%, electricity supply at 4.7%, manufacturing at 1.8%, and mining at 1.7%. For the January-May 2026 period, the index rose by 0.6% year-on-year. Separately, the Industrial Production Index for April 2026 was 113.4 points, showing a 1.4% increase compared to April 2025. During April 2026, manufacturing production grew by 0.6%, with electricity supply rising by 6.9%, mining by 4.5%, and water supply by 4.4%. However, the April industrial production report noted significant declines in textiles and leather goods, down 8.6%, and furniture manufacturing, down 4.5%. For the January-April 2026 period, the production index maintained a 1.6% growth rate compared to the same period in 2025.
