Recent fatalities reported in Gaza and the West Bank
Five people were killed in Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip today, according to medical officials. A drone strike in Deir al-Balah reportedly killed three individuals, including a child, while another strike on a tent in Khan Yunis resulted in two deaths and over 27 injuries. An Israeli military source stated that the targets were militants and that the incidents are under review. Separately, in the West Bank city of Al-Bireh near Ramallah, 15-year-old Amir Ahmad Jawad Jaber was shot and killed by Israeli forces during a military operation. Palestinian authorities characterized the incident as an execution, while ongoing violence continues to escalate since the October 7, 2023, conflict onset. Since the start of the current hostilities, the Gaza Health Ministry reports over 1,045 Palestinian deaths, while Israel reports six casualties among its forces. Violence in the West Bank has also resulted in at least 1,085 Palestinian deaths at the hands of soldiers or settlers since the conflict began.
