Pafos fc in advanced negotiations for defender Bambo Diaby
As of June 29, 2026, Pafos FC is in advanced negotiations to sign 28-year-old central defender Bambo Diaby. Diaby, who was born in Senegal and raised in Spain, is currently under contract with Elche. The defender stands 1.88 meters tall and can also play on the right side of the defense or as a defensive midfielder. His previous career includes stints with Sampdoria, Lokeren, Barnsley, Preston, Sheffield Wednesday, and a loan spell at Granada in early 2026. While at Barnsley, he served a two-year suspension after testing positive for a banned substance, returning to professional football in 2022. Reports indicate that the Cypriot club is making significant efforts to finalize the deal, which is described as being in its final stages. The player is expected to bolster the defensive line for the upcoming season.
