Pafos FC in negotiations to sign Bambo Diaby

Pafos FC is currently in advanced negotiations to sign the 28-year-old defender Bambo Diaby, who is under contract with Elche. Diaby, who holds both Senegalese and Spanish roots, has previously played for clubs including Sampdoria, Lokeren, Barnsley, Preston, Sheffield Wednesday, and Granada. In early 2026, he was loaned to Granada for the second half of the season, where he recorded eight appearances, following four appearances for Elche in La Liga. His professional career has included a two-year suspension for a doping violation, from which he returned in 2022. The player primarily operates as a center-back but is capable of filling roles on the right flank and as a defensive midfielder.
