Two men arrested in Paphos following assault over debt collection
Police in Paphos have arrested two men, aged 39 and 42, following an incident involving a violent debt collection attempt. At approximately 9:00 PM on the previous evening, the suspects arrived at the residence of a 35-year-old man, reportedly demanding payment of a debt owed to the 39-year-old suspect. The owner was absent, but his 26-year-old employee was present at the property. The suspects allegedly assaulted the employee using a knife and a golf club before fleeing the scene. The victim was transported to Paphos General Hospital with a laceration on his arm and abrasions. The 39-year-old suspect also visited the hospital for a hand injury and was subsequently discharged. Both suspects were arrested under judicial warrants and remain in custody while the Paphos Criminal Investigation Department (TAE) continues its investigation into charges of assault, illegal possession of weapons, and threats.
