Real Madrid reportedly in talks with Pedro Martinez
Real Madrid is reportedly close to signing a three-year contract with 62-year-old coach Pedro Martinez. Spanish media outlet Marca reports that the club is prepared to pay a one-million-euro release clause to Valencia to secure his services. Martinez is currently recognized for leading Valencia to a Euroleague Final Four appearance, as well as winning the Supercopa Endesa and the Liga Endesa. The current Real Madrid coach, Sergio Scariolo, has not yet been officially released from his position. Reports also suggest that Paco Redondo, a former assistant to Pablo Laso and Chus Mateo, is expected to join Martinez's technical staff. Redondo currently works with Mateo for the Spanish national team. The club is expected to finalize the managerial change shortly. These developments remain unconfirmed by an official statement from Real Madrid.
