Motorcyclists to mark 30th anniversary of Isaac and Solomou deaths

The Isaac-Solomou Memorial Initiative is organizing a motorcycle procession to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the deaths of Tasos Isaac and Solomos Solomou, who were killed in August 1996 during demonstrations in the Dherynia buffer zone. Spokesman Alekos Michaelides announced that 40 motorcyclists will participate in the event for safety reasons. The group will depart from Limassol on July 7 by boat, arriving in Piraeus to proceed through the Peloponnese, with stops in Karavas (Kythira), Keryneia (Achaea), and Salamis, chosen for their namesakes in occupied Cyprus. The route continues to Rhodes and Kastellorizo before concluding in Athens. The tour will feature street naming ceremonies to honor the memory of the two men. The initiative aims to promote the message of liberating Cyprus from Turkish occupation. The group is scheduled to return to Cyprus on July 17.
