Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation evaluates the six-month EU Council presidency
The Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (Oev) has released a statement assessing the performance of the Republic of Cyprus during its six-month presidency of the Council of the European Union. Oev commended the government, the President of the Republic, and public officials for managing the presidency effectively despite challenging geopolitical and economic conditions. The federation highlighted progress in several European policy areas, including the Single Market, economic competitiveness, migration, defense, and security. Despite these achievements, Oev emphasized that the business community has not yet observed significant tangible improvements in the daily business environment. The organization explicitly called on European institutions to accelerate the implementation of planned reforms to reduce administrative burdens and provide more predictable rules. Oev reaffirmed its commitment to continuing its work on the national development agenda to ensure that policy progress translates into actual business benefits. The federation remains a key proponent for stronger integration and competitiveness within the European economic framework.
