XM Group announces reconstruction projects for Limassol fire-affected communities

On June 30, 2026, the XM Group held a press conference in Nicosia to announce the second phase of its initiative to support communities in Limassol affected by the July 23, 2025, wildfires. The fires resulted in two fatalities and extensive damage to homes and forests. As part of a total €5 million pledge, the company previously provided direct financial aid to families who lost their homes. Now, the Group is allocating over €1 million for four major infrastructure projects in Souni-Zanatzia, Agios Amvrosios, Agios Therapontas, and Vouni, aimed at revitalizing tourism and local social spaces. Additionally, the initiative includes funding for 10 portable water tanks to improve fire safety. While reports emphasize the need to address gaps in state support, the XM Group stated the project scope was determined through consultation with local residents and community leaders.
