Aegean launches new cycle of pilot scholarship program

Aegean has announced the launch of a new cycle for its pilot scholarship program, which has been operational since 2018. The initiative aims to train the next generation of aviation professionals in Greece, with 40 new scholarships available for candidates to obtain a Commercial Pilot Licence. Since the program's inception, over 280 individuals have participated, with 150 graduates currently employed by Aegean and Olympic Air and 88 students currently in training. The program offers financial support covering a significant portion of the training costs, which can reach up to €100,000 per student. Training is conducted in partnership with Global Aviation and Egnatia Aviation, followed by type rating certification at the Aegean | CAE Flight Training Centre. The total duration of the program is up to 20 months. Aegean states that its cumulative investment in the initiative exceeds €17 million. Graduates are offered the prospect of immediate employment with the flight crews of Aegean and Olympic Air upon successful completion of the course.
