Summary of recent police operations in Limassol and Famagusta
Police in Limassol are investigating two separate cases: a 48-year-old female employee is under investigation for the alleged theft of approximately 93,000 euros from her company between 2025 and 2026, and a 46-year-old man was arrested and remanded for five days in connection with a burglary on June 26, 2026, involving property valued at 45,000 euros. Separately, in the Famagusta district, a 46-year-old man was arrested for two burglaries and subsequently admitted to nine additional offenses committed between March and July 1, 2026, resulting in an eight-day remand order. Additionally, a 31-year-old man was arrested in Famagusta following the discovery of a training hand grenade, various power tools, electronic devices, and a small quantity of cannabis in his possession. The suspect claimed he found the grenade on the street. Investigations by the Criminal Investigation Departments (CID) in both districts are ongoing. Judicial authorities have issued remand orders for all suspects involved to facilitate further questioning.
