Police investigate attempted murder-suicide in Zakaki

Police in Limassol are investigating an incident in Zakaki where a 55-year-old man allegedly attempted to murder his 46-year-old wife before taking his own life. The suspect, an active police officer, reportedly used his service weapon in the shooting. The victim is currently in an extremely critical condition and remains in an induced coma at a private hospital following a lengthy emergency surgery. Limassol Assistant Police Director Lefteris Kyriakou confirmed that the firearm used in the incident was recovered by authorities.
