Investigation continues following the deaths of two children in Xylofagou
Authorities at the British Sovereign Base Areas have reported that initial post-mortem examinations into the deaths of two children found in a car in Xylofagou were inconclusive. Further forensic and toxicological tests are required to determine the precise cause of death. The children, reported by different sources as two girls and two boys aged eight and ten, were discovered in a vehicle where they had reportedly been for over three hours. Investigators are examining CCTV footage and potential mechanical faults in the vehicle's locking system to understand why the children could not exit. The children's father and his partner remain in police custody following a court hearing on Monday and are scheduled to reappear in court this Thursday at 12:00 PM. The investigation currently focuses on allegations of child neglect and the sequence of events leading to the incident. Authorities have conducted 25 witness interviews to date as part of the ongoing inquiry.
