National Guard recruits distribution for 2026 ESSO announced

On Wednesday, Cypriot Minister of Defence Vasilis Palmas oversaw the distribution process for 2026 ESSO recruits at the Christos Samaras camp in Athalassa. The event was held in the presence of members of the Parliamentary Defence Committee. The Ministry utilized certified software to allocate recruits to various branches, corps, and units of the National Guard. According to Minister Palmas, the system processed personal data submitted by recruits through an online platform without human intervention. The software applied standardized, measurable criteria based on both individual preferences and the operational needs of the National Guard. This method aims to ensure objectivity and equal treatment across the military force. The Minister noted that measures have been implemented to facilitate the adjustment of new recruits to the military environment.
