Kedipes makes further 50 million euro payment to the state

Kedipes has issued a cash payment of 50 million euros to the Cypriot state for the second quarter of 2026. This payment is part of the ongoing repayment of state aid previously granted to the former Cyprus Cooperative Bank. Following this transaction, the total amount repaid by Kedipes since it commenced operations in 2018 has reached 1.87 billion euros, though some sources report the figure as 1.9 billion euros. In addition to these payments, Kedipes continues to manage the Rent-for-Installment scheme. To date, 800 properties have been included in the scheme out of 1,200 approved applications. The organization currently maintains a cash reserve of 60 million euros to fund the Rent-for-Installment program. Furthermore, 60 million euros have been set aside to settle obligations to Eurobank Limited regarding the repurchase of non-performing loan portfolios. The underlying Loan Guarantee Scheme officially terminated on January 30, 2026.
