Netanyahu responds to recent rhetoric from Turkish President Erdogan
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a sharp response to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan following recent statements regarding the destruction of Israel and the status of Jerusalem. Speaking in an interview with Israel's Channel 14, Netanyahu advised the Turkish leader to exercise restraint and reminded him that the 400-year period of Ottoman rule has concluded. Netanyahu asserted that Israel is currently a strong state capable of defending its sovereignty and security. He further categorized Turkey's current foreign policy as representing a radical axis akin to the Muslim Brotherhood. Additionally, reports indicate that Netanyahu has ordered the Israeli military to fully dismantle Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon, including underground tunnels. Hezbollah and the Lebanese government have labeled Israeli military activity in the region as an occupation and a violation of international law.
