Reports indicate Russian military training took place in China during 2025

According to Reuters, citing confidential documents and two European officials, Russian military personnel underwent training in China in November 2025. The program was reportedly authorized by Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov in August 2025. The three-week training, conducted at a facility belonging to the People's Liberation Army in Beijing, focused on radiological, chemical, and biological defense. Documents reportedly show Russian military personnel receiving instruction on nuclear reactor models, chemical and radiological identification, and air ventilation system protection. European officials claim the involvement of high-ranking officers from both nations highlights deepening military cooperation linked to the conflict in Ukraine. While the documents include photographic evidence of the training, the Chinese government has officially rejected these allegations. The reports have raised concerns among European governments regarding the extent of the Moscow-Beijing strategic partnership.
