Omonia football club cleared to sign players as transfer embargo is lifted
The Cyprus Football Association (CFA) has officially lifted the transfer embargo previously imposed on Omonia. This decision allows the club to proceed with the registration of new players without further restrictions. The change in status follows the ongoing legal dispute between the club and former employee Jesper Jansson. The case is currently being handled by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). A final ruling from CAS is expected in approximately three months. This verdict will determine the exact financial compensation Omonia is required to pay to Jansson. Until the final ruling is issued, the club has regained the authority to manage its roster for the upcoming season. No other transfer restrictions currently apply to the team.
