Trial continues regarding the death of 14-year-old Stylianos Konstantinou

The Nicosia District Court is currently hearing the testimony of Konstantina Papachristodoulou, a former kindergarten teacher of the late 14-year-old Stylianos Konstantinou. The witness claimed that during the 2008-2009 school year, the child arrived at school in dirty clothes and reported instances of domestic violence involving his father. She testified that the boy described his father threatening him and beating his mother. The defense attorney, representing the parents, challenged these claims by presenting photos of the boy in clean clothes from that period, which the witness acknowledged were taken specifically for a school photography session. The defense questioned why the teacher did not report the alleged abuse to the authorities if she believed the child was in danger. The teacher maintained that she observed the child's condition daily and that he also displayed behavioral issues, including aggression toward classmates and risky behavior. The trial is examining the circumstances leading to the teenager's suicide.
