Cyprus launches new digital platform for government benefits

On Wednesday, the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy of Cyprus launched a new digital service titled 'Find benefits you may qualify for'. Located on the gov.cy portal, the platform helps citizens identify relevant government benefits based on their specific personal details. Users answer a series of questions regarding their employment status, education, household composition, income, property, disability, and health status. The system currently supports 45 different benefits, including welfare payments, social insurance, student grants, and rent subsidies for displaced persons. Officials stated that the service will be expanded with additional features and public services over time. Authorities emphasized that the results provided by the platform are purely indicative and based on user-provided data. Final eligibility for any financial assistance remains subject to the assessment and official criteria of the relevant government departments.
